About this calculator
How is the water-loss estimate calculated?
The calculator multiplies your surface area by the annual evaporation depth (from a climate preset or a custom value) to get gross evaporation, then applies the reduction percentage Armor Ball® delivers (default 88%, up to 90%). It converts the result to gallons (1 ft³ = 7.48 gal) and to dollars using your water cost.
What evaporation depth should I use?
Use the climate preset that matches your region — Arid (60+ in/yr), Moderate (30–50 in/yr), or Humid (<30 in/yr) — or enter a measured pan/lake evaporation depth in inches or millimetres per year for a more precise estimate.
Are these numbers a guarantee?
